Yes it usually does get worse before getting better. The main thing is to make sure you use a facial moisturizer and lip chap so your skin and lips don’t get too dry. Usually you will start to see results within a month to a month and a half, although expect it to get a little worse before it gets better (doesn’t always get worse though).

If the redness your talking about is just acne it should go away but if it is scarring then there is no guarentee it will go away.

I just stopped accutane a few months ago, and honestly, its really only the first month or two, or right after they up your dose, does it get bad. Everyone is different when it comes to side effects. I didnt have bad acne to begin with, but I had a lot of scaring, so I went on the accutane just because I needed to completely stop all the acne I was getting, to give my face a chance to heal, so when I first started, the acne that I did have, didn’t get much worse.
The two main side effects I did have was slightly drier skin (which for me was good, because my skin had been kind of oily), and dry/irritated lips. For your face, I totally reccomend Neutrogena for Sensitive Skin (the purple one), and for your lip, aquaphor. They’re the best
Again, everyone’s skin is different, and I started to see improvement pretty quickly, but it could take a few months before you see any real difference in your skin.
It’s totally worth it, I promise, don’t let people scare you.
