Horrible accutane break out?

Hi, im a 20 year old male, i started accutane because i had a break out around my mouth and id never had one so bad before, well i started taking accutane about 3 days after the break out and my skin cleared up real nice but then day 10 into the cycle i broke out again REALLY bad around my mouth and jaw line and it seems to be spreading like wild fire, iv never before had this bad a break out and im wondering if i should just stop taking it????? i drink alot of water and eat healthy, should i use a moisturizer or something?

Don’t stop taking it. Some medications have breakouts as part of their routine. Don’t pop them either this will only make the puss that comes out go onto other parts of your face clogging mor pores and spreading your acne. Water helps a little but don’t expect very visual results. If your face is dry then yes you can use a moisturizer. I would recomend neutrogena. It’s for sensitive skin and is oil free

Because Accutane shrinks the sebaceous glands, nearly everyone who takes it will experience dry skin to some degree. Your skin may flake or peel, your lips may get chapped, and your eyes and inside the nose might feel dry.

To combat dry skin or the condition you are experiencing, you will need to use a moisturizer daily. Your favorite light lotion may not be moisturizing enough during your Accutane treatment. Try a more emollient cream. As long as it is labeled noncomedogenic, you shouldn’t have to worry about it clogging your pores. For lips and the skin inside the nose, try applying a salve like petroleum jelly.

You should keep taking the accutane. It is very common for people starting accutane, or any new acne regimen for that matter, to have an initial breakout. The accutane is working and is just getting all the bad stuff out of your skin. Your skin will get better in time. While you’re on accutane, you should just wash your face twice a day with a gentle, non-medicated cleanser. After cleansing, you should use a non-medicated moisturizer, as accutane will dry out your skin. Continue drinking lots of water to stay hydrated and keep eating healthy. Good luck with your course.
